COHORT: The primary beneficiaries of CO-Away are households in rural and remote regions of Canada; however, we are currently scaling up the platform to include jurisdictions outside Canada.

PROCESS: The development and implementation of CO-Away incorporates the Smart Framework that integrates citizen science, community-based participatory research, and systems science. The scalability and replicability of the platform prioritizes data sovereignty of citizens, and decentralization of technology.

CO-Away

APPROACH: CO-Away is a digital health platform that offers households the ability to manage real-time risk of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.

CONTEXT: CO-Away was conceptualized in the initial days of the COVID-19 pandemic to provide households with the ability to manage their risk. It is now being expanded to encapsulate risk management beyond COVID-19.
