Charlie Maere, MSc, BSc

Charlie Maere is an information technology expert with over 17 years of experience in digital health, systems development, machine learning, and ICT infrastructure. He holds an MSc in Information and Communication Engineering and a BSc in Information Technology. Charlie currently serves as Global Director of Digital Health and Data Analytics at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, where he leads multi-country teams across more than 16 countries. He has also served as the PEPFAR/CDC-funded Health Information Systems Project Director for EGPAF Malawi. Previously, Charlie was Chief Technology Officer at Range of Motion Robotics (ROMBOT), a Silicon Valley digital health company, where he led the development of rehabilitation mobile and web applications. He has also held leadership roles as Director of ICT at the University of Malawi, technical lead for the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN), and IT Operations Manager at Malawi Telecommunications Limited.
